The Weight of Favor
People often speak of God’s favor in terms of outward, tangible things - the blessings you can see. The danger in this is, if you don’t study God’s word for yourself, you’ll think something is wrong in the seasons you feel that you’re going through the fire. Mature faith will show you that God’s favor is found not just in tangible outcomes but in His hand upon your life, His provision, and His continued presence as you get to the outcome(s). You’ll learn that favor is heavy; it’s weighty and often uncomfortable.
If you don’t shift your perspective, you’ll think that your favor is found in things - it’s not. It’s in the potency of His presence as you journey with Him, it is in the provision that makes no sense, it is in the way you get to see Him and His glory on full display, it is in the timeless wisdom He blesses you with during the quiet moments. This process matures you into someone who knows God, who sees God, and who, once having obtained the blessings, stewards them in a way that can only point to His glory.
