Having faith in God and having faith that God is going to perform something in you or in your life is not the same thing as trusting God to do that thing.

We need both.

Your faith has the ability to produce lasting joy no matter the situation or season. While it is true that the walk of the believer is filled with many trials and tribulations – that there’s a level of long-suffering, surrender, endurance, and sacrifice that’s required – there is a joy that flows from the presence of God that exists in the midst of it all. Joy that remains.

When I think about 2026, the word ‘watering’ continues to come to mind. Gardening, for example, involves preparing land for use (tilling, excavating, cultivating), planting (or sewing) seeds, and then watering and tending to what has been sewn before the sprouts and blooms begin. 2026 feels a lot to me like a watering year.
